I figured out how to check the ecu for errors by using the jumper method. But I cannot distinguish the long and short flashes.... it looks like its just the same exact flash every single time. Is it supposed to be this hard to do or is it really just flashing the same because something else is wrong?

 

perhaps they are all short or all long?
