Default Ecu

Hey i have a 92 prelude with the h22a4 engine and when i ran it out as soon as i went to shift to 5th i hit 5th and my car died... what would i need to have done to get this removed or what ecu am i lookin at that i wanna get??

you would need a obd-1 p13 but a converter harness scince h22a4 are obd-2...what ecu is in the car now??

ok thats a goood thing...so the car just died when u shift in 5th??...how long has the motor been in the car?? any others problemes??...just need some info to troubleshoot your probleme

ughh i bought the car the way it is with the motor and at first the guy had it all screwed up but i took it to a guy with a shop and he rewired it all so its like stock now and got me the right ecu because i had the wrong one.. and it doesnt have any other problems 4th gear runs out to 7500 rpm and when i hit 5th the first time it did it i thought it blew up lol but it dies at about 125

thats really weird...but i have a jdm p13 and beyond 180km/h theres nothing scince jdm cars are limited at 180...hence u would need a p13 from a usdm prelude

did a small google search and yes jdm p13s are speed limited at 115...so if your car hits 125 and dies this may be your probleme

dammn i figured it had some kind of limiter but how would i go around that new ecu a chip idk a whole lot about the ecu

Yeah it was more than likely the speed limiter. Mine hits right as you shift into 5th or even the very top of 4th. You can get a chipped ecu for your car from www.phearable.net. They dont have a speed limiter and can be programmed/tuned. You can set a new rev limiter and vtec crossover among a million other things. Do a search or read up on there website. They have other companies that sell chipped ecus too. You can even do it yourself.
