DOHC
DOHC VTEC is a VTEC engine with 2 overhead cams. VTEC is a system where the engine uses 2 cam profiles at different times. There are SOHC and DOHC VTEC engines.....
DOHC = Dual OverHead Cam
an engine with DOHC VTEC has VTEC (Variable Valve Timing) on both intake and exhaust valves.
a "plain" VTEC engine is SOHC, Single OverHead Cam, and VTEC only works on the intake side, limiting the power gains. On an SOHC VTEC engine VTEC can only work on the intake side because without making the engine dramatically more complicated, there is only enough room on the Single Cam for extra cam lobe profiles for the intake valves.
