Take a look at this crank, the bolt is broke off inside of it.
Even if I get the bolt out, does this crank look f'd up to you?
Here's some pics. F22A1 motor

Um wow, that is hard to see. Can you write a description? If the crank snout is dinged or whatever it is probably fine. The crank snout only has to spin the accessory belts that far from the oil pump.

what ruins a crank is shitty journals and cracks and such, the end doesn't matter much
get the bolt out and you should be good to go

Koo, yeah I just picked up this car so I haven't really
had a chance to mess with it. The entire timing belt side
of the motor is caked with oil.
I just wasn't sure on the actual snout part though.
I'm gonna take the pulley off today and get a better look at it.

Re: (SKDRCR)
Well, went to work on it today.
I drilled a hole a tapped it with an ez-out screw remover, no luck,
I couldn't even budge the bolt.
It's soaking in some pb blaster right now.
I think i'm gonna try to take an impacet to it tomorrow.
I know you're not supposed to do it that way but I think I'm
gonna give it a shot anyway.
Whoever worked on this car last was a complete dumbass.
The bolt that broke off in there wasn't even the right bolt,
it looked like a suspension bolt

uh oh , thats bad news. the crank pulley bolt is a large special thread, very fine, some dumb *** probably crossthreaded it really bad...
none the less that crank is far from junk, i would just make sure you soak it with some rust penetrating lube..
second if that was the wrong bolt cross threaded in , you can always have the thread drilled out and re tapped to a larger fine thread bolt , then get a grade 8 fine thread, a thick washer and torque it down..
no problem at all
edit: those pics look like crappy camera phone pics lol

do you think it was a bolt that was cross threaded in there?
the crank is very thick, you can def drill it out.. it depends on how you want to go about it. what i would prob do is get the appropriate drill and REVERSE tap with REVERSE threaded bolt as big as you can go without drilling into the threads of the crank (use a spare crank or crank pully bolt to find best size) then drill tap and then screw in your reverse thread bolt and crank it down, hopefully the bolt will break lose before the reverse thread bolt breaks
if all else fails, its time to redrill and tap.

Yes, the bolt was definately cross threaded in there.
I might have to try the reverse threaded bolt idea.

Re: (SKDRCR)
Exactly how much have you taken off this thing?
Have you tried using a left hand drill bit?
I don't know if you can anymore but I know a couple of people that have done it and it works great.

A left hand drill bit isn't going to work with the extractor broke off in there.
I picked up an f22b2 block yesterday for free so I'm gonna just swap that in.
