Default in desperate need of input

alright, listen to this..... im at a stoplight, and then it
turns greEn so i slowly acclerate into first then into
second..then i go to 3rd and give it alittle more gas than
usally, the rpms are climbing to around 4k and then all of a
sudden they fly up to like 7000 and im still in third and im
not going anywhere (. its like i was revving it
in neutral..... i frantically try to put it in another gear
and the same thing happens. luclkliy im rolling down a hill
so i roll into a parking lot and park it... WHAT JUST
HAPPENED!!?!?!?!

while parked and the motor running, i shift into other
gears. when i go into first the rpms dont move at all..(i
can let the clutch out for any gear and the motor doesnt bog
or anything, its just like being in neutral execpet the rpms climb alittle in each high gear). i put it into
second gear and the rpms climb to about 1200 rpm and still
and i can start to hear a slight rattle from im guessing the
tranny.. 3rd gear the rpms are aroun 1500 rpmms and i can
hear tthe slight rattle, same thing for 4th and for fith the
rpms go up to about 1700 rpms and the rattel is definlty
noticeable but not too loud

i dont see how i blew my clutch on a stock motor and with
only like 35k thousand miles on it and the tranny...its
practically new...unless the shop put it in wrong or
someting..i just got it put in like yesterday.my car is sitting i a parking lot right now and i
just got back home from walking 3 miles in the 90 degree
weather...i dont know what to do.............im sick of this
****...

oh yeah its a 92 "s" model lude w/ jdm h22/tranny/ecu

do you think it could be the driveshaft,..cause i think that was just swapped over from my last motor... like it could have come loose or just broke?

You don't have a driveshaft. Your car is FWD. You have two halfshafts. If one of them broke, you'd know it

While its possible that it popped out and the open diff biased all power to where that halfshaft should be, its not likely. Especially with the hubs bolted on, which they should be if you were driving it.

My vote goes to the clutch.

Could be, might explain your rattle too.

Actually he has 2 driveshafts. A halfshaft would be a driveshaft minus the inner cv joint.

yeah, soo.. we replaced the axel and my car still has the same symptoms ....it must be something internnally wrong...im getting the car shipped to a transmission shop so hopefully they can fiqure it out... im guessing if i wwere to open my differential its gonna look like confetti, but thats just an educated guess..... would this malfuction be something that was already messed up form HMO or could it have been someting that wasnt put together right? anyone have any suggestions on whats going on?

Was it making the rattle sound while you were just idling or only when you put it into a gear and gave it some gas?

i couldnt really hear any noise when i was in neutral at idel and also when i gave it gas you cant hear, (maybe because of the exahust tone), but whens its in gear and at idel thats when you start to hear a rattle.......the rattle gets lounder as you make your way toward 5th as awell as the speed on the speedo climbs 5 or so mph for each gear

but when i was liek in 2nd gear it was slightly noticeable (and keep in mind im not gassing it at all in any gear and the clutch is fully out) if you were trying to listen to a noise and 3rd you could hear it just alittle better and by 5th gear you could definlty hear it....its almost like something is ethier dangling and tapping something repeatedly or something is completey broke off and bouncing around at the bottom of the differential maybe..

and my friend who did the swap is starting point his finger toward HMO , but i dont think it was a faulty part from them becasue they seem to have a very good record for providing good quality products.... but ya never know i guess

my theory:

-your diff is gone. not sure how, since it's not like diff's die every day, but, i've got an OEM m2y4 diff just sittin around collecting dust if it is your diff.

-your clutch is really gone. it could be interference from something like the clutch springs rubbing on the flywheel or something. either way i think you should pull the tranny and see what's up with the clutch/flywheel. also look at the axle inputs on the differential. also, drain the MTF and see if there's a whole bunch of shred in there.

good luck mang

Also just take a look under the car too see if a axle is hanging down. My car did the same thing when i broke my axle.

will definlty try those suggestions out bad-monkey.... thanx

...I looked under right away when the problem occured and didnt see anything abnormal i looked above the motor and saw this...this was taken above the motor twhere the tranny and diff are....

http://community.webshots.com/...cXiNY

it was very dry and barley had it oil on it....i dont know what exaclty it is...im thinking one of my halfshaft inputs on the diff...... i cant tell by looking at it if theres something wrong but it was just somethig i felt wasnt right, i dont think im suppost to see it? ...i had the car off and it wasnt spinning, dont know if would of with the car on because im not shure exactly what it is..... but ill keep yall posted on what exactly has gone wrong....

Oh your axle popped out. That used to happen to my car when i had a broken rear motor mount. Just jack the car up pop it back in then add 2 quarts of oil in that bad boy and you will be good to go. You will have to find out why its popping out . I would suggest checking your front and rear motor mounts.

When the axle pops out like that it will cause the exact symtoms you posted. It might just need a new snap ring on the end of the axle.
