Default dc ceramic

Hi, i know a guy who is willing to switch his dc ceramic for my stock header. I know it sounds like a good deal but i am just worried that the ceramic header will get holes and stuff in it. I wanted a ss header becuase i always hear that its more durable and i am thinking since i live in a really humid environment that its not a good thing to get a ceramic header ( i live in houston by the way). I have searched plenty but not really got a good answer. I want this to last me all through college so about 3 more years. Any suggestions are appreiated thanks.

well, I have never had one on my lude, but a friend of mine had one on his civic hatch and he said it gave it a ricier sound due to a thinner or different shaped piping, and the power gains were close to maybe 4 or 5hp.........but if it doesnt cost money out of your pocket, I would do it, and the ceramic rusted, but then again I live in ohio

I've never heard of any complaints from a construction/resistance POV on the DCsport header. The only draw back is that you won't notice a performance increase by swapping it from your OEM header. Thankfully, you won't notice a decrease either.

trade, use it and save some cash, sell the header (since you will get more than an oem header) and buy something better... Like I'm doing...

you dont have to do the 2.5" collector mod for the dc header.

Reson being is DC just made a header not to long ago with a 2.5 ince collector for the prelude. check it out on there website

If its already used, it'll probably be done after 3 more years in a humid climate. Its not the best coating in the world - guys in the rust belt have had that header rust thru in 2 years. If you sent it off to HPC coatings or Jet-Hot to get it cleaned and coated inside and out, it'll last a long time though. You can get that done for about $150. If you do the collector mod and have fresh welds, I'd definitely get it coated.

the only time it wouldn't be there is when you sodl it to get cash for another one... and when you are sellling it, buy a new one online w/ a credit card, send out the dc when the new one comes in to whoever bought it, install the new one, and pay off the creit card bill when you get paid for the dc.. if you don't have any cedit cars, find someone to lend you theirs, pay them the cash you saved up and then the money from selling the dc when you get it.
