km question
has anyone ever changed the km's on their prelude. like turned them back? is this possible. im asking because a friend of mine has a lude with a motor swap and it reads 201 000 km but really the motor is new?
Besides from being illegal, it is immoral and doesn't make any logical sense. If you put in a new transmission, do you put 0 miles? New suspension, 0 miles? New wiring harness, 0 miles now? No because it is dumb. The engine is just one part of the system of a car that ages. People are fools when they put the mileage of a car as the miles of the engine when it is rebuilt/replaced. The chassis and electrical system usually cost more to maintain than just the engine as a car ages.
For the record, 97- cars are easy to manipulate, 97+ a little harder. I'm not going into details because there are already too many 'adjusted' cars out there already.

i know its illegal, but lets say this scenario happened. somehow the gauge cluster got smashed (its hard to think of a logical way but lets just say it happened) the odometer got all busted up. what would you do in that situtation? would you roll your new odometer forward to the previous miles? that you would think would be illegal also.
also what if you somehow added another odometer? left both hooked up so 1 will have the original miles but have another "rolled back" to reflect the new motor miles? say you convert to el gauges and somehow leave the old odometer behind the dash hooked up? just ideas
