Default a day at the track...

well... i'm back from a day at the track and i must say i'm very dissapointed.... we went to LACR today and my BEST run was 16.5 on the quarter mile... i ran 16.5 several times but never got lower... last time i went to the track i hit a 16.3 and its at the exact same track.. also this time i had my Falken Azenis (which were supposed to have better grip) and brand spanking new spark plugs.. the only thing different different from last time were my tires, the spark plugs, and also back then i removed my spare and i also had a stupid canister muffler, but that shouldnt really affect annything... i'm really dissapointed.. why would i hit lower than last time? might any of u have some kind of explanation? TIA

EDIT: A supercharged Z06 hit 13 flat so it might have been something at the track..

you should be in the high 15s, what were your 60 ft times and 8th mile times?

8th mile i think was 11 flat... if u calculate to sea level 16.5 is 15.9 and 16.3 is 15.7...

Arm, LACR is about .5 sec slow...but I don't think that the elevation makes that big of a different for n/a cars. LACR really effects turbocharged cars because of the thinner air. For example, Arbi with his Type-R got 15.1. That's pretty good considering that they are rated at 14.8. I think on the best run your car can hit 16.0. As for running a slower time, it could be due to weather and track conditions. Compare your 16.3 timeslip and your 16.5 timeslip..and see what went wrong. But there will always be room to improve, Arbi first got a 15.8 I believe, and now its a 15.1, thats a .7 difference.
Thin air is what most severely hurts NA cars, not turbocharged cars. It makes a pretty big difference. I've driven my Prelude in the mountains at probably 6000+ ft. and it has NO power at all.

yeah, everyone gets slower times at LACR. last time i ran in 95 prelude VTEC with i/h/e i hit a 15.5, whereas at carlsbad i ran a 14.89 with the same car bone stock.
but yeah, compare your time slips and see where the difference is. there could be a ton of different reasons.

Default LACR and slower times

Hey guys, check out the times the pros put down at LACR. If I remember correctly, they were .5-1.0 slower. From what I recall, that track sucks. I thought I heard something about maintenance issues or track surface, but I can't remember.

with all the conditions you listed, id say its an easy 13.2 time.
post the slip up when you get a chance so we can further analyze it.

check your tire pressure bro. there is no way you should be chirping from 2nd to 3rd in a stock Si with azenis. you probably have too much air in them...
hey, we should go together next time. i haven't been to a track in a while...

My best time in my 92 Si 4WS when I went to the track for the first time was a 16.29 when it was humid as hell. It was drizzling out too. LOL I could only launch my car at 1200rpms because of the water or whatever they spray at the starting line kept causing me to just spin the wheels if I went over 1200rpms. I have no-name brand tires also. I was running my spare in the back and old plugs, wires, dist. cap and rotor. I hope I can break into the mid 15's. Possible??

I am very surprised by your #'s. I ran a 16.4 in my stock 92 S, which should be much slower than your car. I also thought that my time was fairly shitty, the track sucked ***, it was so slick, all my friends were running almost a half a second slower than normal...

15.3 isn't too bad. My car is stock. i want to get one more set of three runs in before I test my car with any mods. I would like to get a baseline of what my car can do stock.
