If you are looking for straight up power go with the Tanabe super racing medallion, it has a completely straight through design. It is one of the better power exhaust i have seen especially for booseted cars. As for power gains you probally will not see more than 6-8 whp, but as you put more mods on it a good exhaust will give you the most out of each of those mods.

i don't like the way greddy looks, IMO. Apexi N1 sounds and looks phat on a 5th Gen. But mugen is the **** period. Tanabe is cool too.

theres a pic of my N1 on my 5th gen..look in my sig and log on to my imagestation pics.

Im really happy w/the N1, it comes w/a removable silencer which can make it just as quiet as stock. W/out it, it is a very deep exhaust in high revs it sounds very clean, no rasp, like your motor has been tuned very well.

The N1 with the silencer is quite louder than stock, especially between 3-4K rpm, but that is mostly in-cabin resonation noise. Above 5K rpm you hear more engine than exhaust from within the cabin (unless you have the windows down in a tunnel ). The N1 is a bit too loud for my taste, and does sound a bit raspy to me w/o the silencer - but its very agressive . If I had to do it over again, I'dd go with the thermal bc it is full stainless steel.

i was thinking the mugan has a dual canister, lyk the dc would the gain on that be the same since it has the same design. i love the look of the mugan, but i would not mind a N1 ether. the more parts i put on the more power i would get out of my exhaust right???

the mugen is not tike the twin conister, the DC has 2 separat canisters, while the mugen loops the exhaust through one canister twice. the mugen would probably give you more gains than a DC, but an N1 or a racing medallion or any of the straight through N1 type exhausts will give the best gains. And yes, the more mods you add the more power the exhaust produces, not a trmendous amount but a bit, depending on the mod.

Don,t bother with the headder. The only ones worth getting for the h22 are ~$1000, like mugen or smsp. Mugen will bolt right up, but an smsp won't, you'll have to get a new 2.5" cat and a custom exhaust. I'll be modifying my header to have a 2 1/4" collector and getting a race cat of the same diameter (hopefylly by late spring) so that way I will be able to use my N1 . As for other mods, I'd reccomend a vafc, it worked well on my car even when it was bone stock. I gained 15-20whp at the crossover point and 3whp at peak - not too bad.
