Coolant Problem
Ive got a 97 prelude with a jdm h22 w h23 tranny chipped to obd1. I was hoping i wouldnt have the same problems as the motor had in the car i pulled it from. It cept blowing the heater core hoses off so the last guy ran one line from the back to the thermostat housing and bypassed the heater core. It ran fine and didnt overheat. Now i have it in my car that i run on the dirt track so i kept all the hoses the same. Now it doesnt overheat but the top radiator hose swells to like twice it size and eventually it starts spraying out the radiator cap and maybe other places not sure. I raced last nite and almost won til the last lap when water sprayed out on my dizzy and coil causing me to loose all my power. I bled the system number of times also, anyone have any other ideas?? Thanx
im about to get a coolant pressure tester, i did a compression test on the motor in the car it came out of and each cylinder was hitting around 175. It runs at like 170 with my fan on. I was hoping it wasnt the head gasket but i read about where compression could be leaking into a coolant passage? anyone know about that?
well the pressure tester i got wouldnt fit my radiator so i couldnt test that but i ran it here at my house for atleast half an hour and none of the houses got hard or swelled so i decided to take it to the track. Go figure after the first warm ups its acting up by sputtering plus i pop the hood and the hose is swelling like a balloon. Eventually i lost all spark to the dizzy, not sure what thats about yet since i changed everything cept for the dizzy.
