i just ordered a jdm h22a with 10.6 compression...the motor is a 93-94, one of those years....i was wondering if i put in the type s pistons how much compression would it raise it too...someone told me it would run 11 like the type s....but someone else told me since the 93-94 is closed deck it will run 11.5...who was right?
it's a little over 11 in my car, but I had a lot of work done while everything was out. I think my car is running at 11.3:1 before the head work and 11.7:1 after everything was bolted together. You really can't get much above 12 and still run 93 octane from what I hear without some pretty bad detonation.

from what i heard...11.5:1 is kinda pushing it on 93 octane thats y i wanted to run about 11.5 just wanted to know so i can see if i should stay with a stock head gasket or go with a two layer
I am just starting to piece my motor back togethor with a milled head and type S pistons. I should be around 11.5 to 11.7 compression. Tuning is key when you have this high of compression.
