Default Compression

Hey guys I just bought a 98 Prelude. But now it won't run. :cbaby:
The mechanic said that it had something to do with the compression.

Is this something I should be worrying about?

Is this fixable?

Help please. Thank.

Compression is a VERY SERIOUS problem.... usually poor compression in a cylinder is due either worn piston rings, leaky valves, or leaking head gasket. Low compression = loss of power, stalling, irattic idle, and one ton of a shitty car. Any way you look at it you need an engine or a rebuild. I would run a dry compression test and a wet test to test the rings. if it isnt the rings, pull the head off and inspect the valves and head for cracks and anything else that may make it leak.Make sure you know what your doing with torque specifications and torque procedures for the head if you torque them down wrong you will make things far far worse for yourself. Taking out head bolts can cause the head to twist just by taking it off. Good luck.

have your mechanic do a leakdown test to isolate the problem.
