Default Code 9 (CYP Sensor) ...

I had been getting this code on a very rare occasion but this weekend it started to stick around and show it's ugly face quite a bit more. I hadn't driven it in about 5 or 6 days and it's really been cold out the past couple of days (some rain too).

Once the car is fully warmed up and has been driven for a bit, I can shut the car off and when I turn it back on, the code doesn't come back but it's always there when I first crank it up from cold.

Checked inside the distributor and all looks fine. No metal flakes/shavings and it looks quite clean inside...

ohm test the sensor itself. If you still get a reading you need to replace the dizzy housing anyway.

This code sucks major ***. I had it for quite some time till i found a housing for cheap. Also, even though it doesnt show the CEL being lit if you still jumped the connector the code should still flash out 9.

Is there a manual that I can reference online for the correct wires to OHM? I saw atleast 4 wires all in the same little area.

My ECU has the connectors jumped via a switch so I can tell exactly what codes I get. I leave it jumped for the most part since I have the EGR code too and the ECU light is always on. This way I can tell if anything new comes.

Thanks for the help!

you can also check the connection at the ECU plug as well.

Is this an OBD1 or OBD2 car ?
