Default code 5; MAP sensor??

Ok, so I just finished my swap, JDM h22 into my 4th gen. I am running a chipped p28 ecu. I am throwing a code 5, which is the MAP sensor. Now to my knowledge, when swapping in an h22, and going from the f22, you didn't have to connect the MAP sensor on the TB, since there was one already one on the firewall. I do not have my vacum line hooked to the MAP, would this cause me to throw that code. The car is idling like ****, but I dont have my header bolted to the B-pipe, b/c of the difference of flanges, and I only have 1 bolt in the header/downpipe...

so I know its gonna sound like **** b/c of that...

help me!

Cory,

The map sensor on the firewall has got to have a vacuum or it cant get a proper reading. Without the vacuum its just the same as it not being connected at all. The map sensor vacuum on the f22 intake manifold is on the throttle body I believe. If you have a throttle body that has the map sensor on top of it of course that connection wouldnt be there. Take one of the blocker plugs off your extra vacuum connections on the intake mani itself and hook up the map sensor on the firewall to that. It should eliminate this issue.

For the love of God get that other bolt. You have been talkin so much shyt to me cause you got your swap done first. HA!!!!!

so you're using the f22 throttle body and foregoing the map sensor on the firewall?

am i understanding it correctly when I assume that you are not running a map sensor? or are you running a map sensor and still have a second vacuum line that is open? plug it and look elsewhere if that is the case...

If you ARE running no map, just slide the map on to the end of the open line and plug it up, it should still work fine. That is how we did it on the jdm b16 that was installed in a local guys car.

nm i don't know **** about h22s.. edited this post....

why don't you have the vaccum line running to the hole in the TB directly in place of the map sesnor, that seems to be the solution without knowing crap about an h22.. how else would the MAP on the fire wall be able to read vacuum?

I am running a MAP sensor, it is just throwing a code. The MAP on the 4th gens is on the firewall, so there is no plug on the harness for the one on the TB. i was told just to leave it there to hold vaccumm...i never unplugged the one on the firewall, just the hoses, but having trouble figuring out where to send them

ok...so I just looked at a schematic of the vaccum source, and its showing that the big nipple on the throttle body goes to the EVAP canister? and there are 2 nipples on the rear of the IM, that those go to my MAP? or can I just unplug the MAP from the firewall, adn plug it up on the one on the TB? I know I would have to lengthen wires for this.

the first video you had the vacumes all fucked up
i dont think you have the right TB
it looks like you got the 5th gen tb witch has the map sensor on the top of the tb.
try unpluging your old one and plug it on the one on top of your tb.

i have to lengthen the wires. I found out today I had a vacum leak which wouldnt let it idle right. swapped ecu's for a JDM p13, and idles good now, still gotta fix that MAP. going to do that tonight
