Clutch Problems, Any Thoughts?
Ok so i have a 2001 prelude base not type sh. i had the clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder replaced the clutch master cylinder had been leaking for sometime and finally one day it would just not let me go into any gear. after i got it replaced going into gears just wasnt the same the gears would be really notchy SOMETIMES other times nice and smooth 5th was always ****. every now and then the car wouldnt even know my clutch was all the way engaged and while engaging a gear it would just grind. yesterday i was on the highway i did a full 3rd gear pull went for 4th and it grinded i lost all clutch resistance and i could just flop the clutch against the floor and back like nothing and i couldnt get into gear i pulled off the road, turned the car off pumped the clutch a few times put it in first and got it rolling again drove it home and let it sit. today every time i rolled out of first and second i got wheel hop. all of a sudden tonight i got on it once in second went to push the clutch in and it stuck i pulled it out of second gave it a few pumps got it into third and then the clutch would disengage itself and the motor would rev like in neutral then it would engage again and so on. i pulled off to the side of the road and my clutch would only engage really really high. and then slip by itself after engagement i couldnt get the car anywhere i let it sit for three hours to cool down then i was able to drive it home but if a gave it to much gas the car would pop in and out of neutral even though i was in third or second what ever gear. car reaked like coolant and burned clutch. but wasnt over heating. what do you guys think?
Sounds like either your clutch is busted/burned up and/or a combination of that and the clutch hydraulic system is still F'ed up...maybe you have air in the clutch line and need to bleed it, or your clutch master and/or slave cylinders are defective (even though they are new)
