Default Clutch problem

Ok heres my deal. I put in an Exedy clutch about oh maybe 10k at most miles ago. It was nothing special just like a stock clutch. I have 178K on the motor and I got in a hurry putting it back together because it is my only car and the weekend was ending quickly so I didnt get the flywheel resurfaced. Now the clutch is slipping. Its weird thou I did the highway test 50 in 5th gear and that was fine. It dies if i try strating off in third. and it stil grabs hard going into 3rd and somtimes it will tear them apart going into second and then some times if I jsut punch it in first the prms jsut spike. WTF Do you think this could be a result of the flywheel or jsut a cheap exedy clutch. Sorry for the paragraph

Sounds like you might have a bad igniter. Its a part of your distributor. Inside.

Exedy??? Cheap??

Exedy has a great reputation. In fact, they make OEM clutches for AMNY manufacturers. There is a reason why they have a good reputation.

i think if it was a result of your flywheel not being resurfaced,
it wouldn't be an on off thing.

How does the igniter affect the clutch slipping?

Pentaq told me he went throught 3 clutches (one of which was exedy) within some ridiculously short period of time because his flywheel had tiny cracks in it - so it could very well be related to the flywheel causing it.
