Default Chromoly rings?

I am in need of pistons and rings, and I can get pistons with chromoly rings for 160 brand spanking new. My question is, is chromoly better than stock? What are the stockers made out of. Thats all I need to know. Thanks

Stock rings are made of forged aluminum. If you want new JDM type S pistons and rods for an H22 email me at HPrelude@yahoo.com

stock are aluminuim forged moly coated rings.
the older 3rd gen prelude b21 did not have the moly coating and as a result the fmr sleeves would eat the uncoated rings up.
if i do remember correctly honda engineering report said that there fix was to redesign the rings (add a moly coating) in order for them to not wear down so quickly as they did in there first attempts at frm sleeving (fiber reinforcement metal...)
so any of the h22a rings should be moly coated.

well there's a difference in "moly coating" and "chromemoly".

A chromemoly ring is made from a different type of metal.

I've never heard of chromemoly rings, so i can't say anything about them, but i always go w/ the rings that come w/ the pistons.

stock h22a rings are not moly coated. From what another ring manufacture told me,the top piston ring is a nitrited steel alloy.the second ring and the oil control ones are chrome rings.
