Checking engine light after long time....posible?
A while back, i want to say maybe 4 months ago, i had my check engine light come on. After i saw this, i turned of the car, pulled the key out, and then started the car again and the light was gone. Along with the engine light was the ATTS light. So i figured it was the atts thowing a signal and left it at that. The car never ran different so i just ignored it. But i heard that when the check engine light comes on the atts light will come on also. Regardless if there was something wrong with the atts unit or not.
Anyways, bottom line is ive become extremely curious at what caused the light to come on. Can i still check the ecu and get a read out of what cell it through even though its been so long? Also, how do you check it.

after 50 or so starts it will be erased from the ecus memory. But it won't hurt to try.
Not sure if its the same on the 5th gen but on the 4th gen there is a plug underneath the radio that you jump to display the codes.

Well went out and did it, but it was the ATTS light that flashed, NOT the engine light....WTF? Anyways ended up beign 35. Lets look at the helms.....
Well turns out to be that 35 is Reference Voltage. Im gonna have to check the wiring on the ECU and ATTS CU, and since i have a VAFC installed, its problably a wire problem.
I have a 5th gen and my check engine light came on and I contacted Honda cause it was still under warrant. The guy told me that if you don't screw on your gas cap at least 3 times when you close it that could happen..
