Default Changing an oil pan, help.

Alright, Precision Tune stripped my pan and denied all responsibility so rather than get pissed and go on a rampage I decided to just change the pan. I was wondering, does anyone know any kind of do it yourself guide for changing the pan in a 92 prelude and do I have to pull the engine?

no, jack up the car.. drain the oil (or don't drain the oil if you want to make a mess)

unbolt the little bolts going all around, get a flathead and pry the pan off gently but firmly. by "stripped" your pan do you mean they stripped a bolt that is now stuck?

if so, get out your impact gun + cheap socket (kragen or something) and use 1 size lower, so if its a 10mm bolt use a 9. line it up and smash it with a hammer until it's snug on there, use the impact and zap it off. done!

no, they didn't strip the plug. They overtorqued it i'm assuming and stripped the hole, so now the plug won't tighten. I have it rednecked up with some red silicone making a gasket to hold the oil and plug in. But it still leaks so it's just a temporary fix to a long time problem.

well you could tap the hole one size bigger than it was and get a new bolt to fit. might be a cheaper fix

I'd rather just go ahead and replace it. I found a guy selling a pan for 10 bucks and it's in great shape.

id just tap it, much easier. butttt i just did my pan cuz it was rotted out. you gotta drop the exhaust at the header collector and i unbolted some sort of crossmember?. its going from the rear to the front of the subframe. i also had to unbolt the clutch inspection cover to get the last couple bolts outs.
