Default Changing from boost to NA

My plan was to buy a turbo kit and build my engine. But seeing how unrealiable turbos are and how much time I don't have to fix the setup. I've decided to go NA

I was thinking of a set up something like this. Please help me out.

-CAI (thinking of making my own)
-SMTP Header (if I can get one/ afford it)
-Hondata (or what else should I get? (v-afc?)
-Dunno what kind of exhaust but was thinking of the greddy evo
-change the timing a little
-Bigger injectors?
-Possibly a qaufie lsd and some better tires

Wheres the NA thread? I can't find it

Anything else you guys would suggest?

A F/I engine is not unrealiable, its how you tune it/build it....But
from the looks of it, you just could not afford the F/I route.

If you cant afford a 1G header you cant afford F/I
And no F/I is not unreliable for a daily driver...

NA is not necessarily cheap either. If your just doing bolt ons you can only go so far. Do you plan on having a built all motor set up? Or just bolt ons like you listed.

with 10k's you can get about 350whp or more dude! i thought we are talking about reliability not 12's! lol get some sleeves rods and pistons, cost you about lets say 1800 w/out any hook ups, lets say average speed cuz doesn't seem like you want anything crazy so a Drag kit, 2700 if u search around, get it tuned, AEM EMS blah blah shoudl cost you about lets say w/out calculating around 6.5k's and u can not only run good times but be in the reliable stage. If im wrong please inform me. thanks.

That's exaclty what I had been hoping for in whp wise, but since I am still going to school I'm gonna need a realiable car (realiable as in doesn't break down every 5k miles..) I figure I can probaly get what 30whp out of bolt ons and good tuning.

+ 30whp out of just bolt ons? That seems extremely optomistic. But if you pull it off let us know.

why will it break down every 5k miles? good tune up, rods-sleeves-pistons, it shouldn't blow or break down every 5k's.

You don't need Hondata for that set up. Save some cash and get Apexi VFAC and do some tuning on the dyno. You also will NOT need bigger injectors, there is no way in hell you will be too lean with that set up. Also a high flow cat would make sence if you doing headers and exhaust. If your taking the tranny out to put LSD in, then you might want to think about also getting a lighter fly wheel and a new clutch.

I got about 30hp to the wheels with my set up and it's just I/H/E Cat, and VFAC. I went with mugen though. (see link)

...and I agree that turbo will not be near as reliable as the basic mods you have listed. I want to see one of these "reliable" burbo cars run a 20 min track sesion on a 90+ degree day without over heating.

thats why we have bigger radiators and such, but obviously turbo doesn't come near all motor as reliability but it can be reliable

Going on 10k miles, most of which have been at 9 psi. This car is my daily driver.
