Default CEL Code 9 - CYP Sensor - what is this?

Other than "Cylinder Position Sensor" what is this, where does it live in my engine, does anyone have a part number?

I got this code this week - no unusual driving, no maintenance, no rain... And the car runs fine. I figured it was going to be the secondary O2 sensor, but nope, just this elusive CYP sensor.

TIA-

if you perform a search, you'll find that there's a pretty good thread that i posted about the very same code, with some diagnostic suggestions and stuff.

Basically it lives on the end of the camshaft outside the valve cover.
if you have a 3rd gen then it's on the exhaust cam all by itself. If it's 4th or 5th gen it's in the distributor. Search for the better info like the monkey says above.

Thanks - good write up. Stupid me, I had searched the archive but didn't find this thread.
