Okay...question. I've now gotten two different explanations of just what a "cat-back" exhaust system is. One guy told me it's the exhaust from the catalytic converter to the tip INCLUDING the cat. Another guy said it's the exhaust system from where the catalytic converter was to the tip MINUS the cat. So which is it?

Thanks man. The guy I got the exhaust system from (an APEX) got all pissed off because it came with a high-performance resonator that replaced the catalytic converter. I hooked up the system, but got a horrific resonate roar inside the car. So, I had the catalytic converter re-installed (which quieted the noise inside the car some) but he got all pissed off that I was 'hacking' a very expensive exhaust system. Another guy disagreed and said that the system was 100% effective as a cat-back system even with the catalytic converter installed.

 

I don't know what you mean by "effective" but having a catalytic converter is the right thing to do
