Default cant decide, need some input

well i got the money now, but i cant decide which route to go with my prelude.

it currently is a 92' h23, I/H/E underdrive pulleys, msd ign, lite finazzna flywheel, stg 2 clutch

i have always been impressed with the h23 power, its very good under 5,500 rpm

i want to make RELIABLE higher rpm power, my 2 choices are -

1. h22 head swap, along with everything related ( gaskets, intake manifold, injectors, new header, etc...)

2. h23 head (the one i currently own) send it out for port and polish, 3 angle valve grind. i would also install new springs, retainers, and most likly stage 2 cams either crower/skunk2

if anyone has done these modifications (esp #2) please give some input upon how reliable it is, and if there are any dynos please post.

thanks guys

you know just putting the h22 head on the h23 block is going to drop your compression to about 9:1 or so?

What about do a mild build on the H22 head? mill the head to drop compression, p&p, 3-angle, cams etc. are you looking at going na all the way, or is FI an option? U can find an H22 for a decent price and just do the swap...

milling the head raises compression and is a half-assed way of doing so IMO.

what would be a better way to up the compression? Longer rods?? I was just thinking that since he was getting the head work done it would be convienent. How much increase in c/r would net from a milled head, I know I suggested it only cause I know it increases c/r but how much is something I know anything about...

f22, lol nice try

although f22 + built engine + turbo = lotta fun

i dont really want to do any FI simply because its a mess of parts, and i really like the reliability of n/a.

does anyone have a dyno, or any info about a modified h23 head? just curious if its worth the money

What are your long term goals? How much money are you willing to spend on this? Do you have another car to drive? Are there any baby mommas that are going to hold you up? If you start NA and the car requires premium gas for the rest of its life can you afford it? Honestly, I just dont want to see another I have $$ and what option to take post. Find your goal, identify the what is needed to make your goal, yadda yadda.. Good Luck
