Can Tein HA's for the Prelude BB1 be serviced?
I'm buying a used set of Tein HA's for my Prelude VTEC and the guy has confessed that one of the rears 16 settings adjustment has seized! Can this be fixed easily?
It is a genuine sale, the guy is part-x'in the car for an Impreza Turbo and offered me them before he takes the car to the dealer.
I don't know why they would seize, only that not adjusting them regularly has rusted them?
Help
Tim

Sounds kinda fishy, I mean why would a part fo the shock that is inside the trunk rust? Call Tein USA, they can do shock repairs.
EDIT: I guess if your in the UK Tein USA won't be much of a help

I'm a Tein Dealer
and if I recall correctly TeinUSA can rebuild used Tein shocks for 75US/shock.
so 300 for all 4sides...... or maybe it was 400???
Can't quite remember, I checked just last week....eh.. growing old, memories fading

I'm in the Uk. Do you know of any Tein dealers in the Uk yet?
I don't know the TEIN's very well but does the 16 setting adjuster just corroad(?) and stick, so it is difficult to adjust? It just looks like a nut that needs turning? Can I use WD40 or something on it to free it up...

yea spray some WD40 in there see if it breaks it up a bit.
usually ppl say the treaded part or the collars seize on the HA's, but on mine I had applied some antisieze on these parts and they work fine.
I do not believe Tein has setup in the UK yet, TeinUSA is fairly new, I believe less than a year.
Another thing....usually the TeinHA come with a cover that goes over the dampening adjustment ****.
