Can an auto 5th gen run 12's w/o nos but major mods?
I own an automatic 5th gen prelude and i'm wondering if i can run 12's w/o nos? How can i build up my tranny? or should i swap the tranny for a 5spd? I just want to run 12's.

eerrrrrrr doesnt everybody wish there ludes could run 12'NA and without Nos!
even if you have the best mechanics and the most skilled engineers and SH*T loads of cash you would be lucky to be swooping 13/14s with an Auto...
swap to a manual and turbo, it'll become more realistic but I still wouldnt be betting 12's.. mid 13's is probably a more realistic figure.. with heavy internal work, weight reduction and the right parts it is possible to hit 12's, but this requires, time effort and again the issue of a hell of alot of money

Ha! Good luck man...Yea, it's possible(w/ lots of cash) Just get a 5spd and slap some FI on there with few other mods and just be happy running 13's
Basically... Auto Prelude+running 12's in 1/4 mile=not worth it
But if you do, then Go you!!

Re: (bolt on lude)
its deffinately possible. but you need loads of money. all you need is some kind of FI, internals, high compression, torque converter, and a lot more other things. but anything is possible w[ith money

why don't you wanna spray? its much much more cheaper then going N/A.. and FI.. levelten.com has parts to upgrade auto tranny... uMm it is possible for 13's spraying. I know a guy that run's consistent 13's spraying with a ss lude. Keep in mind he does have a some "work" done to the engine. 12's is pretty hard even for 5spd's cause the traction problem people will be dealing with. If you want to run fast 1/4 you bought the wrong car (fwd) if you want a fast car relatively cheap get a domestic or dsm.
