Can anyone tell me what is this noise?
I installed JDM Pistons in a H23A1 block. I took it easy for about 1500 kilometers did an oil change. Two days laters. I took her to about 160 km/h and I felt a lose of power. The Lude started to burn blueish smoke meaning burn oil. Now there is a ticking noise. The noise is kinda loud but would quiet down a bit when the oil get into the engine. My water cooling system isn't going down, there is white smoke building in the head. And I have low compression in Chamber 3...When I did a compression test..And notice that chamber 3 is low..I but a tease spoon of oil to see if the compression in that chamber will rise up...It didn't. I think its one of the valves...Well check out the sound tell me wht you think.

i dont mean to be the bearer of bad news.... but i heard the EXACT same noise in my friends h23a/h22a hybrid...... i told him he spun his bearings and after they yanked his motor apart they found out he spun EVERY bearing he had. your noise sounds VERY similar, i hope i am wrong though for your sake. also, did adjust your valves correctly?

I am pretty sure that its not a spun bearing. Well I really hope it isn't. The for my claim. I just have had all my bearing on the crank shaft changed. But the noise is clairly coming from the head. But if I really knew what the noise was about then I wouldn't be asking anyone.

thats why i was asking about his valves also, if thats his valves they sound like a damn highschool orchestra. maybe you dropped a valve and bent a few? anyways, its hard diagnosing a problem over the internet. i say either spun rod bearings or fucked up head. i hope im wrong though for your sake ....

did you re-bush the rod ends?or just had the wrst pin pressed in?Cuz i know for a fact that the wrist pin can't be pressed in.The rods need to be modifed to accept the floating wrist pin set-up.
