building h23 for boost
Hello everyone, I am currently doing research on engine components for my h23 that I am going to turbo.
I am probably going to buy the following:
Wiseco dish pistons
Crower turbo camshaft
crower billet rods (really expensive, but not much of a choice)
Complete KMS valvetrain(valves, retainers, springs, and Blockguard)
Anyone have any opinions on these products? good or bad?
ANY info would help!!!

you should check out the faq's
but things to add would be sleeves, frm doesnt like forged pistons. and last i checked the h23 was a closed deck so you wouldnt need the blockguard. you will also need a good engine manegment

Eh, you don't need turbo cams to make a lot of power, and from what I've read I would not use KMS stuff personally. For valvetrain go Rocket w/ Supertech valves if you want aftermarket.
Do more research and you'll see you have to sleeve your block to run forged pistons.

Iirc, you gain midrange with Crower Turbo Cams but lose as much as 40-60 on the top end. Look at the forum on evans-tuning.com for more detailed info. I would stick with the stock cam.

i forgot to mention, I started an internship at a well known local "racing engines" and machine shop. Im doing all of my boring, cutting the valve seats etc. I am very fortunate to have this oppertunity. thursday I'm going to talk to my boss and start doin measurments on everything, he also has an engine dyno, where I will be doing my tuning
internship eh? what shop? i'm from montrose, pa and didn't know anything like that was around tunkhannock. let me know on the dyno!
as for using mahles, i hear good and bad. personally, it'd be too much of a chance to take to use stock sleeves. spend the grand and sleeve it and you won't have to worry.
