Brakes
i was changing my rear brakes and the stupid screws that go through the rotors stripped so i had to drill them out. Are they really necessary, because i didnt bother rethreading it and putting new ones in.
just to hold on rotor when you pull off tire so it doesn't fall and bust your toe
you should be fine

i just used a regular screwdriver 1st, then it stripped so i tried the impact driver, that didnt work. then i tried the grip-it screw remover and it completely ate the screw up.

they pretty much are, and even when you try to take the rotor off you still hafta tap it lightly with a cloth and hammer to break it free.
Next time try this, get an easy out down at NAPA, then drill out a small hole only 5mm or so, then pound the easy out in, attach some vicegrips and use some muscle thats what worked for me and i could still put in new screws

there is usally a special tool to remove that bolt. It looks like a screw driver but with a fat medal handle or butt. It's like a torque impact. All the screw does is hold the rotor on anyways.
