Default Is it bad?

I was driving at about 60 in low RPM in 4th, and I down shifted to 3rd, and it went up to red line, 6K, but thats it. Will that have caused any damage? Don't feel like asking my dad, since he might flip out, lol.

You should be ok. I am just surprised that your car went to redline in 3rd...particularly since you have a S Prelude.

You should be ok.

Actually, it might have been 3rd to 2nd, I dunno, I was worried and didn't remember exactly which gears, I was just like, oh ****, please be ok.

should be no poblem; stock bottom ends on preludes can easily handle 8000 rpm.

i wouldnt worry if you cant hear anything or the car isnt running any different. just check the oil next time its changed. personally i mis-shifted from 3rd to 2nd at near redline in 3rd and according to the max rpm on the vafc hit 9155 rpm and when i adjusted my valves they werent out. im not saying everyone is that lucky but its a good pick me up

You should be fine. I downshifted from 3rd to second from redline in 3rd, and i was scared i absolutely ruined my engine in my teg, when i had it, but nothin happened. Changed the oil the next day, and there was no sign of metal, etc. Sucks when you misshift.
