It's not for your transmission, its for the ATTS unit.

i know this... and thus this is why ATF (Automatic Transmission Fluid) probably isn't the right answer... read the post before commenting...

It is look in a helms or any other manual. Search through some posts also because i remember asking the same question about a year ago and I know i have seen many others ask the same question.

ATTS is essentially a tiny automatic transmission, it uses similar clutch packs and has a planetary gearset (you can see the parts for yourself in a thread a few pages back).

So, the use of ATF makes sense. It takes a little over a quart for a fill-up.

Correct. It is also for the ATTS unit. You can put any automatic transmission fluid in there, but I highly recommend Honda's.

Damn, OWNED.

Its a good thing it uses ATF fluid, that way you can tell what leak you have under your car. Engine, MTF or ATF.

It's definitely ATF, and I had understood it was 3 qts?

Sorry to bring up this thread again, but I just drained and filled my ATTS unit with over 1 qt of ATF. I couldnt get an exact reading of how much I put in there because the damn manual handpump would spill everywhere. Finally, after all the pain and suffering, I bought one of those suction pumps and squeezed it right in. (it took 30 seconds to get all of it in there)

My concern is the amount of fluid I put in there. I believe I put about a qt and a half. Will this harm the unit? I am not completely sure on how much I put in. Should I just put new fluid again to be sure?

And the main reason for me changing the oil is the ATTS light keeps popping up intermittently. I pulled the radio/clock fuse to reset the ECU as well.

Any help would be great...
