Default ATTS Delete a unique question

Is there a way to delete the ATTS and keep the SH tranny and engine?

Using a diffrent tranny is not a option because of the rules in SCCA.

Can a regular LSD and Final drive be installed in a SH transmission once the ATTS system is removed?

Honestly, I don't think anyone has ever disassembled a M2U4 before. You'd have to open it up and look at the components to spot the differences. Looking at the parts catalog, the following components are different between the Base and SH trans:

Differential
Clutch housing
Countershaft
Transmission Housing

The clutch housing isn't a huge deal. I know the difference between how the SH and Base trans attach to the block are very minor, to the point of negligence. You should be able to change the countershaft relatively simply as well. The intermediate shaft can be mounted using the adapter. Really, you do need to open it up and take a look. I suspect the biggest difference will be the differential, and what implications that has on the case.

Removing the ATTS is a pain in the A#@ if its weight savings your looking for or you can just unplug the ATTS mod, its under passenger floor and its left side of the ecu.

If the ATTS is deactivated can you install a KAAZ lsd?

No. Assuming the Kaaz fits in the case, you'd still need the adapter and use an actual intermediate shaft. The ATTS unit has a coaxial input from the stock M2U4 diff.

What constitutes a different tranny? Is ATTS considered part of the tranny? Does swapping the diff and final drive not count? What if you just peel off the M2U4 sticker and put it on a different tranny? What if you just leave the ATTS sticker on the trunk lid? Short answer: depending on the letter of the rules and the scrutiny of the officials you can probably delete ATTS. As for how much custom fab would be required.... it might be easier to start with a non-SH car. I know Hardly Davidson was melting down engine cases and recasting them for one of the AMA series at one point. 'See, "stock" engines in these babies.'
