I have 3 friends who used this method and gain real hp's.

I'll use it when open my engine!

I think he means a little more than just "revving the **** out of it"

He stresses running it under load, and that it's important to engine brake as much as it is to accelerate hard.

My sisters boyfriend has been doing this to his brand new MX-5, I'll be interested to see how it turns out!

so...when breaking in the engine by driving hard...would you use synthetic oil or conventional oil to have the piston rings sit properly?

i used this method, or a similar method of break in... havnt had any problems... LOAD in the first 250miles is crutial. And use conventional oil for the first 2000 miles then switch over to synthetic.

Yea, if you read the damn thing you woulda seen it said to use conventional

And the point is to vary the RPMs alot. Don't just drive in 5th gear at 130 for 30 miles because "the RPM is high". You're supposed to do short bursts, mostly in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gear from say, 3 grand, to redline then stop, then cruise, then again, etc.

remember to pay attention to everything thats going on when your doing this too (as you'll probably be having fun) dont forget to glance at the temp and listen for any detonation or other weird noises.
