APEXi VTEC controller
So i understood this much from its description. It's a piggyback style injection control unit that can change fuel mapping and also alter the rpm which vtec kicks in. is there much more than that? Im thinking of getting one for my gen4 prelude and just wanna know if anyone has had troubles with them or have a better suggestion. thanks heaps guys?

but that goes for just about any kind of ECU tuning option.i have aVAFC2 and it works just fine for me. look into hondata or crome, either of these will have more options or capabilities( like ignition, rev limit, boost, etc...), but at a higher price. its up to you whether the extra features are worth the extra money.

It also lets you view pressure, vtec on and off, rpm, throttle, correction...that's all I can think of for the monitoring part. It's a good piggyback system IF you're going to tune. It's a waste of money IMO if you aren't going to tune. Just buy some gauges if you want to monitor. I have one for now, and I've tuned WOT and narrow throttle. I gained 7 peak horse with it and 15 horse at certain points. My gas mileage has gone way up, too.
I owned a vafc2 back in the day.
I liked it - never had it dyno tuned, but it was a nice little gizmo to have. Helps beginners understand the concept of fuel tuning though. A bit.
I say if you can get it for a good price - it'll be a nice little investment.
Just to let you know, if you plan on doing anything drastic to your car, you should get a hondata s300.

Did they take away the plug-in for that? I didn't realize...I'll have to check to see why. There is nothing the chrome can't potentially control. You can make it spray nitrous when the ecu gets input that you honked the horn.
