Default Another Frankenstein

hey there, fellas. looked through the site and you guys seem to know your vehicles inside and out. i got a 95 5 speed Accord EX with an f22b1 SOHC VTEC in it. put a CAI and exhaust on her, and she runs beautifully for now. question is this - could i take off the SOHC head and put on the DOHC head from an H22a1? i've seen the fellow here - https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=776837 - who did a similar swap, only using an f22b2 block instead of the f22b1. wondering if its possible with the b1, as well. yes, i know i'd have to change the timing belt equip. and whatnot as well, saving up for it right now, i would just like to know if it could be done.

any help would be greatly appreciatted.
-Chris

Yes. b1 and b2 bottom ends are the same. The heads are just different.

yep thats right, the only thing different is the head, you should make a pot in my thread if you actaully get into doing the f22/h22 thing

oh snap, just remembered what else i wanted to ask. the pistons for my f22b1, would they still work with the h22 head, since the original was a SOHC, and the new one's DOHC, would i still be cool? i dunno.

I think that the cutouts for valve clearance are different--it does have two more valves...
