admins?
is there a rule against talking about anything non-honda here? Is that why my thread was locked? Or was it just because it looked like it was going to degenerate into a mitsu vs. honda war? Believe me, that was not my intention, I dont want mitsu vs. honda wars any more than anyone else. I personally love my honda more than any damn mitsu out there, but I would really like to hear comments from the community. Does this warrant locking a thread after 6 posts?
Topic: Am I crazy?
it was discussing 4g63 swap into lude chassis.

According to your sig...the 4g63 swap is already done, why do you need to discuss it??
Why would you ever put a 4g63 in a prelude to replace the beautiful H series?
The mounts would need to be altered, plus the H series trannies are awsome and the mitsu trannies suck.
Save yourself the trouble, if you want a 4g63 go buy a 1G for 3 grand and roll around in that......
My stock internal H22 with custom turbo makes almost as much power as a stock internal 4g63 with the same amount of money spent and 12lbs less boost

firedrake, if I knew where to find a BS flag, I'd raise one. And the prelude is just a much better car than a 1G. Granted the H22 is a fine motor, but I'd prefer the safety of a stock turbocharged engine in my daily driver. this isn't about the speed. I know the mounts would have to be alterted, and so would the axles. I'd never heard about the mitsu trannies, care to elaborate? I thought the 6 bolt series were fine.
dslude: i kindly ask that you note that in my sig, it says right at the top, "my plans" this means that it has not been done yet, and the swaps are in various stages of planning.
boosted: way to be a moron. I love your lude and all, but you're a moron. I was just proposing an idea. We all know that its entirely possible, I just wanted to know how hard it would be. If they can make a RWD civic, it should be relatively easy to put a FWD motor in a FWD car.

I am going to have to agree with every one else on this...
why???
EDIT:
Ok.. after doing some research.. im going to have to change my answer too..
Why in gods name???
Stock DSM pulls low 15's high 14's
Stock 4th gen vtec pulls high 14's
I mean you get turbo stock, if you get the engine from the 1g DSM you put out 195hp 200TQ
2g DSM gives you 210 hp 205 TQ
You get an H22A1 OBDI and get I/H/E you hit 200hp at the crank
So lets review:
You spend a few weeks figuring out how to put this swap together...
Spend a few $$$$$$$$ on the custom mods and fabrications
All you get is a stock turbo engine.. and the crank walk is free..
Now take that same amount of time and money, and drop it on a Hondata, cams, cam gears, and a port and polish... and ooh.. you damn near run high 13's
There are not enough positives to justify that much time and money and heart ache spent..
Be happy.. stay H22

what mike said...
and that guy said about the Hybrid forum
This is more fantasy tech than anything. We really don't want to talk blasphemy here about getting rid of an H22.
