96 H22a cylinder & h22a4
Sorry for the newb question but I just bought a 2001 honda prelude and started taking apart the cylinder head only to find out that the exhaust can had be ground down to almost nothing. I'm looking into replacing my cylinder head for the stock engine that came in the prelude SE. I believe it's an h22a4 but am not 100% sure. My question is, can you put a 1996 JDM H22a cylinder head onto the engine in my 2001 prelude?

Yes, just make sure to use a head gasket for an H22a4 open deck.
If your cam was that bad, there is probably metal through the whole engine though, I would say time for a full rebuild.

Okay awesome, and yeah I kind of figured that I would need a full rebuild after seeing the state of the cam, the intake was fine, just the exhaust got mangled. Would it be easier to just buy a used block or just rebuild and like sleeve the cylinders? Anyone have any good references to rebuilds? Appreciate the help.
