92 Prelude Si, Transmission Identification

92 Prelude Si, Transmission Identification
I have a 92 Prelude Si with the JDM, F22B DOHC motor. I am currently performing a rebuild on the motor, and I need to replace the synchros in the transmission while its out but cannot identify which I have.
My question is: are there any differences in the possible transmissions for this vehicle that would help me identify which trans it has. The label is damaged and I can only see that it is a M2** trans but the next two characters have been torn off.
Anyone know these trans well enough to to know if there are other ID stamps or the trans or lend me some help?

Re: 92 Prelude Si, Transmission Identification
Pretty tough, as most of those trans all start with M2.. Also most have the same housing castings....
But you are in luck on the parts side, as all of them use the same syncros, even if the ratios are slightly different. Just go check out Syncrotech in the forum sponsors, they have all the kits and parts you need!

Re: 92 Prelude Si, Transmission Identification
Hey I found this
https://honda-tech.com/honda-prelude...ts****-549372/ Scroll down and they have info on JDM & EU models too.
The owner's manual's(EU & US at least) have the shift points listed,Honda Prelude Owners Manual 1992 | PDF Car Owners Manuals this one kinda sucks cause you can't jump to a page so you have to click 108 times(page 112 in the manual).
With the US version as the example, you can see the difference in the 3rd gear shift points, since they only offered us 2 manual transmissions in 92, it's easy to determine. 3rd in the S(f) redlines @90mph and the one for the Si(H23) redlines @75mph. You can so this with the JDM version as well. I'm assuming that the motor/trans came together from the factory of course. anyway it's kinda like going around your elbow but...
Anyway 10/14 days late but better that than never....
