Are 90-91 tailights interchangeable for 88-89 models?
Hello,
I have an '88 Prelude Si with a cracked tail light assembly. I've always liked the cleaner look of the 90-91s and was wondering if anyone new if they are interchangeable. Thanks in advance for any help in this.

Part # are not the same so I am going to guess no, they look a little different also...
88 Honda Automotive Parts
90 Honda Automotive Parts
Looks like most of the difference is in the mounting, diff. gaskets, on the 88 the "bezel" is part of the lenses, on the 90 the bezels are separate parts. 94

NO.
In order to make them work, you will need to remove the rear pan, bumper, bumper support, trunk, brackets and all associated internal covers and light connectors, and then transfer it onto the 88-89 rear pan.
It requires drilling out the spot welds and re-welding onto the 88-89 chassis.
Its a big project not a simple swap.
