Re: (BB6Driver)
I'm not big into the show aspect of honda ownership, but I can completely respect this.
beautiful work, nicely done, I can't wait to see it with the engine in.

Obviously he did not want his BEST friend banned and yet you did it anyways.

How much experience prior to this do you have with painting?
By the way, I took care of that jackass that was posting up all the bs.</TD></TR></TABLE>
Which B.S are you talking about? The one where I helpfully wrote up a long and detailed summary about what Myk did to accomplish the task of cleaning/wire tucking/painting his engine bay? Or the B.S where I expressed my own opinion about what I think about his engine bay?... Just because I do not express the same opinions as you; you should not ban me for my lack of post counts... You ban me for lack of post counts + expressing my opinion and you are calling me a jackass?
Once again lets not bring this thread to a battle of banning me over and over again because we are here to admire his work, REGARDLESS of other peoples opinion against it.

Re: (98vtec)
Yea that looks really good dude. I've been thinking about painting my car myself although I tend to be grandiose and think I can tackle everything myself, but is painting really as simple as getting one of those painted mister's and painting away? I mean if all the prep work is taken care of and such like sanding the sum bich down and masking off parts etc. Is there a certain type of sprayer you have to use and is the technique hard to get down? Sorry to thread jack but it seems like you know what your doing.

Re: (94Vtecluder)
I've done a bit of painting. The best thing is to have time when you paint anything. Take your time and do everything properly. Make sure you have all the right tools. So you don't go looking for any when a problem occurs. Painting isn't all that difficult, just depends on wether you want perfection or just a normall looking job. I spent ages learning to paint and making loadsa mistakes but it was all worth it. Just do some research before you tackle the job. Don't go and try to paint a whole car if you've never even lifted a gun before. But other than that I say go for it.

Re: pics (Mykizism)
So if I read corectly Honda does not clearcoat the engine bay? WTF
Also, when you are doing a project like this, assuming you are just doing this at a home garage, is it safe to keep the whole car on 4 jackstands while you work on it? Are there any balance issues with that when you lower the front subframe, etc?
The reason I ask is that I plan on eventually doing a project in a garage.

4 jack stands is fine. I just make sure when I have one end up and i'm jacking the other end up to get it on jack stands or jacking it to get it off the jack stands, I keep an eye on the other end to make sure the stands aren't tilting when the weight shifts...

once the engine and components are in it will definately take a good eye to notice all this effort, don't mean to say that it won't stand out, just that not everyone knows the hard hours that are spent into detail. Looking really good, keep updating...

Things like this aren't meant for everyone, just other lude entheusiests and people with an eye for detail. Those are the only people who would appreciate any of it anyhow.
