2000 Prelude Auto...How much longer will it last?
Ok, so about a year and a half ago I bought a 2000 Prelude auto with 110k miles on it. I wish I would've done my research on it, because if I knew that the auto transmissions were notorious for failing I would've never bought it. All in all, I ended up sticking with it and I'm now at 125k miles with no problems. How much longer can I expect the auto transmission to last?

No real expectations really... It'll go when it wants to go. Just don't beat on it, and just take good care of it. Should last for a while, or it may go kaput tomorrow morning.
Btw, I googled this in five seconds. Should give you some useful info.

Not all of them fail, you just hear about it like crazy because internet and misinfo.
ALL Honda's had the same problems of those years but they don't always go out, just take care of it, it's not a race car.

I agree with this guy. At 110K, it shouldn't be even close to going out(Unless someone raced it). Have fun with it, but don't hang out in VTEC lol.

I think those had the tip-tronic transmission. I new a guy with one but he never changed gears manually because he read somewhere that the weak point of the those transmissions is the 3 & 4 gear clutch and using the tip tronic just puts that much more stress on em. Just drive it like an auto is suppose to be driven. Slow and only to church on Sunday mornings.
