Default 2.2 to 2.4

I read somewhere that a 2.2 can be taken to 2.4. Know if thats true? I'm working on a budget of $8000 and as bad as I want big gains I still find myself looking for an excuse to do an all-motor setup. It just seems so clean and honest. The hombre at the local race shop says not to expect more than 200 or so hp on pump gas. If I am willing to pull and reinstall the engine, what type of hp should I expect for the money? This is an 01 sh, 45000 odo. ( I just want the best deal for the dollar).

Sell the SH and get a base. Your ATTS will not stand the power you will put down for an 8k build.

Contact 2point6 and visit his site collectiveracing. He is the father of H22strokers here.

Post your progress!

I know the atts uses electromagnets to somehow transfer torque-WHATEVER- if it where to breakdown for some reason how would you know? Would the car simply not handle as well or would it really screw up the car? Maybe you could pull a fuse or relay to disable it

no, it simply has to be removed and replaced with a base model transmission

not to mention that it ruins any gains you might have, it robs a lot of power, spend $1000 and buy a jdm tranny with an lsd to go in, then build $7k of motor, you will easily hit the 230whp mark with that much money.....

you should chat with precisionh23a on here, he can give you a realistic look at the build and its output

well the way i look at it is, spend 8k some of which goes toward a new tranny and the rest if all motor , you could maybe his 250whp and that is pusshing it, if you sleve your block you could hae one very disgustingly fast car for around 7 grand. a build motor, good engine managment, nice turbo and good equal lenght mani. you could easily hit 500+ whp depseding on how far you want to go

edit: and with sleeving you can bore to 88 or 89 to get a 2.3 ish h22 with plenty of power turboed of course

you can't hit 2.4L on an H22a crank. even at a risky 90mm bore that's 2308 cc....

I would assume the shop is going to stroke it. A H23 crank, with a 89mm bore rounds up to 2.4

Both NA and Turbo have advantages and disadvantages. Depends on your goals

Texx, you can easily get more than 200 whp with a NA motor. You can easily get over 400 whp with a built turbo motor though.

I seem to remember it being 2.47 with an 89mm bore and a H23 crank. It was one one of these threads before.
