Default 1st gear problem?

I recently did a swap and for some reason it seams to be kind of hard to get into 1st gear now sometimes. If I roll forward or backwards and inch or two it will go in fine. This only happens occasionally.

Anyone else ever deal with this problem? Is there anything I can do to stop it from happening?

Thanks for your help.

same with me too man..

my solution might be kind of annoying but all i do is pump the clutch once or twice.. maybe shift into second and throw it into first.. and try from there

its a very normal thing, when your not moving, the syncro isnt either, so the gears dont line themselves up....you usually can try going into other gears and then try first again, but this sometimes wont work....if you cant get it in before you start going, push it in as much as it will go and just hold pressure on it as you start to let out the clutch and give gas, it will go in......

The thing is I drove this car for a year before the swap, using the same tranny with no problems. So that is probably no the case, is it?
