your 3g lude weighs about the same a 4th gen lude or 5th gen lude, ha, i was expecting it to be lighter.more like 2500lbs. so basically you have a 4g h23 si manual 160hp, you should get about a 15.2 out of it.. I ran a 15.7 in my auto si.

Are you sure about that, because the 3gp's are lighter than the 4th and 5th gens.

Yeah, mine was weighed in at the emissions scale. But the gross weight for a 3gp is 2650lbs, so mine is heavier due to what I am carrying in my back seat and trunk.

But you can to to www.tigerjapanese.com - an H22 longblock only is $693 + shipping
I sell the mounts for this swap for: $480 + shipping
The mounts will allow pretty much all the H/F series motors to drop in, there maybe some minor changes, like using a Prelude motor bracket in place of the bracket that came with the motor, but those are easy parts to obtain.
Just so we are clear, the kit comes complete with brackets, bolts, nuts and washers, and in a 3rd gen you must use the 4th gen rear engine bracket to bolt to the rear mount.
The motor bracket I am referring too is the little bracket that is bolted on the timing side of the motor, not the chassis bracket, I am not sure if the stock bracket of the F series motors are the same location, so its best to use the H22/23 bracket.
Contact me at: 1funryd@comcast.net - when ready.

Update: 3-21-2010:
I have finally completed the latest aftermarket for the 3GP community from AZ Race and Machine.
It is a Traction Bar system designed mainly for the H22/23 swappers but is also built for the B20a owners as well.
Here is a picture of the entire kit, all updated pictures have been posted at the front page.

Re: 1FunRyd's 88-91 Prelude - Auto to 5 speed swap, B20A - H23 Non-VTEC swap
That my friend is the custom skid bar that protects the downpipe and oil pand and tranny from hitting first since its designed for the 88-91 Prelude H22/23 motor swap.
Due to the low hoodline on the 3rd gen ludes the H motors sit low in our chassis, so we needed to come up with a solution to protect our investments into the H motors swaps, and this is what AZ Race and I came up with.
Intially we all wanted a skid plate, but the motor is too big with not enough room for the Radius rods to get full articulation during hard turning or over bumpy roads.
Go to the front page and you will see it installed. I update all my pictures up there.
Edit: All hell I will just post it up here.

like your swap. I have an 89 prelude and i would like to swap it, everything you did really helps me accept mine is an S model which means its carb any suggestions? Also what wiring harness did you use since your motor is an obd1 or obd2 and the car is an obd0? Oh and you sell the mount kit but do you sell that traction bar kit also?

Update: 9-30-2016 -
I have moved to WireWorx and sell the H22/B-Series conversion harness made specifically for the 88-91 Preludes
Note: Rywire does not support this swap, they will just sell you a general harness let you figure it all out, so please do not go to them for support, come to me and I will get you a better and more affordable conversion harness from Wireworx.
Also all orders for this harness has to come through me, that is the arrangement I worked with WireWorx
Email me for details: 1funryd@comcast.net
You will need to pull the entire harness of a 90-91 lude from engine to interior for this swap.
Here is the link to a member of pp.com who did the swap from S to Si to H22: http://www.************.com/forums/s...d.php?t=271916
Here is his swap.

Re: 1FunRyd's 88-91 Prelude - Auto to 5 speed swap, B20A - H23 Non-VTEC swap
Hi there im new to the site and cant seem to figure it out but im looking for someone who is familiar with Honda Preludes i actually just bought mine about 2 weeks ago have friends who work on them but cant answer my question maybe you can. So if i am driving and hit a bump or make a sharp turn this insanely annoying beeping noise comes on and doesnt shut off untill i shut my vehicle off and under my rpm guage theres a person in a seatbelt that icon starts flashing also above my speedometer it says door/then shows someone in a seatbelt that also flashes. when i pull on my door panel its kinda messed up but when i pull the door panel about a half a foot towards me it shuts off then if i let go hear like a click and it turns on. so my question is how would i fix this issue?

Re: 1FunRyd's 88-91 Prelude - Auto to 5 speed swap, B20A - H23 Non-VTEC swap
Update:
On Feb 1st 2011 @ 10:20am in the morning while heading to a customer on the job, I got into a pretty bad wreck.
I was taken to the hospital in an ambulance and my car was totalled.
Here is the result of that wreck:
Needless to say that I was devastated and pretty much down on top of being hurt and out of work for about a week.
So, I pondered on whether or not to just total it all and call it quits. So proceeded to pick another 88 prelude automatic for daily driving purposes only, as I already know these cars fairly well.
I was going to let it go to the scrap custom parts and all, but I just could not let enough alone, so I scoured Craigslist and found a perfect shell to transfer all parts.
Only a month after the accident I started my journey back.
Here was the shell I picked up:
As you can see I started pulling the B20a5 motor out right away:
Then I pulled the H23a out of the crunched up yellow lude, as we cut the front end off to pull the motor I was holding back the tears.
It took me almost 9 years to get to this point, and it was all taken away in a matter of minutes
So everyweekend since I got the shell I worked on her with my friends HUY and Justin, and we got everything moved over: Engine, tranny, exhaust, suspension even the Upper control arms and hubs and wheels, chairs and miscellanous parts like AC lines and some harnesses that I just cut.
Also my custom powersteering reroute-line.
Man what a process!!! But all of us swappers never quit do we???!!!!!
We had a harder time swapping to this chassis because the 90-91 chassis is slightly different for some reason, you have to start with the Transmission first then loosen the rear engine bracket and keep the rear mount off until you have the transmission side in the bracket first then work the rear mount next.
It takes some wiggling and finagaling but it will work and everything will bolt up.
Here are the completed swap pics:
Traction bar in...
Here are the body shots:
And now she is up and running, I just need to her to get past emssions. I failed on Friday when I was trying to get the title transferred over.
So minor setback, she is done and needs a cleaning obviously and also got to get the stereo and car alarm up as well.
Enjoy folks!!!!
1FunRyd II is now officially up and running.

Re: 1FunRyd's 88-91 Prelude - Auto to 5 speed swap, B20A - H23 Non-VTEC swap
Thanks guys.
Yes it was a low blow, and I was very close to just walking away and never coming back, but 9 long years of saving up and hard work, I just could not do it.
Next year I will put the H23vtec motor in, so that is the game plan for the upcoming year.
I spent more than my budget, to just recover the parts and swap them into another chassis.
