That is a scotch brite pad. And if you bought anything besides a kawasaki I recommened you wash the painted pieces on your bike with it.

Its to scratch your tires up and remove the slick coating as to increase the grip and safety. </TD></TR></TABLE>
Actually the accepted use for it is to scuff the exhaust can for a brushed aluminum look.

Seems to soft for that. You would be there a long *** time scrubbing
Most of the people on r6messagenet think it's for the exhaust.

You will find differing opinions on this also. Many people swear by using a little sand paper on a new tire.

I believe it is to clean your exhaust can and other metals on the bike.. at least that's what I used it for.

Re: (RebornGSR)
Reborn is right. Its to clean the exhaust.
Best way that I figured out to "scrub" a new rear tire is to raise the bike on a rear stand, put it in 1st and let it spin. Get a block and sand paper and have at it. btw, you probably only need to scrub in the edges and not so much in the middle.

i don't think i'd trust sanding/scuffing new tires to prep them. for my new diablos, i just went out took it easy for a little bit then leaned over further and further for about 100 miles.
