I got a flat front this weekend too, luckily I was able to coast to a hardware store. I ended up lifting my bike into the back of my mom's mini van

You only get out of anything what you put into it.
The whole thing is a bit chilling as I made the mistake last year when I had the ******* with something/someone racing I got in a mad rage. I experienced odd handling on the track, put it down to the wets getting overheated. When I got back the spindle had no nut on it, had worked out about 1/2" and if not for the semi-tight pinch bolts would have come out in the race.
Luckily it didnt, lesson learned, check everything with a cool head, takes 5 mins more, but weeks and weeks to heal.

Ohly **** glad you're ok, good luck on your surgery.
Can someone please post up pics on how to check the front bolt...maybe some pics of the tools you use too.
I'm totaly good at cars but bikes are a new thing to me. How would you tourqe that bolt?
