which is weaker???
95 yamaha yzf600
or
94 suzuki GSX600f
The reason i ask is because i'm new to bikes, i already took the msf coarse and passed it and now lookin for a bike. I know that most people recommend a 250 but the way i look at it is i can get a new ninja 250 for 3k or i can get one of these bikes for 3k. All 3 of these bikes is through a dealer so i'll be purchasing it with financing and they don't have any used 250's. Will the 250 be safe to ride on the freeway at 80mph on a 1.5 hour drive?
Thanks in advance

Also, if you are looking for highway driving then definatly dont get a 250. It will struggle at 80mph plus.

The fastest i have been able to get the ninja 250s to is 110. I weight about 150 or so. Im not saying they wont do 80, but they really start to run out of steam up top.

why are you buying from a dealer? Look on www.cycletrader.com and find a used Ninja 250, you should be able to get one btwn $1500 and $2000 depending on how old it is. There are a lot of bikes for sale out in the Bay Area too, which isn't too far from you. Check www.craigslist.org for stuff in the Bay... I think autos.recycler.com now has listings from Northern California too. Why buy new when you know you're gonna drop your bike sooner or later?

well the reason i wanna buy from a dealer is becuase i can finance it. I really don't think if i buy a used bike off someone there gonna let me pay 100 bucks a month for it

Don't worry about a bike's strength right now - both are definately more than adequate for the time being. Seems like you'll be doing a lot of highway riding, get on both bikes and decide which one is the most comfortable. 1.5hr on a bike with an aggressive sitting position = back and rearend pain at the end of the day.

Best bet, get a well-off friend or family member to co-sign for a short-term cash loan from the bank. The interest rate will be higher, but they won't require anything for the bike.
Actually, best bet is a home mortgage, but I'm assuming you don't have a house.
