I've only driven my car about 5 times in the last month and a half. Riding is a blast. Now go buy a bike and find out for yourself

Don't buy one then. Stay in a cage.

Take a course first, then. 1-800-CC-RIDER. This way, you'll get to learn in a controlled environment.
And if you're still scared after that, at least you tried!

its better to be scared to death of it than to be over confident. the day a bike doesn't have any aspects that scare you is the day you should stop riding

I have the same outlook. I am completely terrified of my bike, but in a good way in that it makes me not want to do something stupid on the thing.
And to answer the first question: I don't even own a car anymore.

I rode in the early 90's to the mid 90's when all my friends had bikes. I was riding a ZX-10 at the time and thought I would never stop riding. Then all of a sudden, my friends were starting to sell their bikes for various reasons. I literally had no one to ride with, which is boring. I sold it and didn't ride a bike until the year 2000. Now my friends are married and settled they started getting bikes last year. I am still debating if I should get one over the winter. I got to ride a few bikes this year and didn't get the same feeling as I did 10 years ago. I rode my friend's GSX-R last night and a Hayabusa last week. I would like to get a 954RR or an R1.
I probably didn't get the feeling because I didn't beat on my friend's bike. Maybe if I did a few wheelies and holeshots that could inspire me.

i feel like i am going to ride til the day i die (hopefully that day wont come while i am riding) but i know at some point i'll be settling down and making babies and all that **** and i'll probly end up getting out of the motorcycle world but thats the kind of sacrifices you make.

Not exactly. Riding has definitely changed my life and I get my adrenaline fix through my bike but I will still have a car.

yes it's true.. I fell off my bike and lost my job so no money for a bike right now. I did get to ride an f4 after my lowside, granted it was only 3-4 miles on backroads but I'm still on the horse. I can't wait to get another.
word of advice...don't care about looking cool, wear ALL gear, buy an older bike so you can drop it without worries.

Look at that, did someone grow up? Aww, I'm so proud. Now hook up w/ some real riders and a beginner bike and work the steep learning curve. I've got an ex500 for sale.
