i was wondering if any of you guys know anything about that new triumph daytona crotch rocket. i have a friend looking to buy one and i was wondering... i know the old triumphs have problems with leaking oil out of the engine block, do they still have this problem? they are really sweet bikes and the daytona looks fast as hell. not too mention how cool would that be to have a Triumph superbike instead of what everyone else has. anyways... just let me know if you have any info.

they are pretty good. Nice pieces to look at, but its going to be like any other specialty bike out there. Hard to find parts and a dealer for service on a trip or if you move. If he is getting it for looks alone i guess that it would be ok. Fuel injection is on all the 1L bikes this year so thats not a big deal anymore.
If he really likes it, then he should get it. But if there is any doubt after he rides that bike and the Jap counter parts then he should reconsider.

I say a 600 at the track and wasn't very impressed. I don't know if it was rider skill, or if the bike wasn't that fast. I know on the front straight he was 15-20 mph slower than my R6.
Also I read an article on the 600 and it got recognition for entering the market strong, but it just didn't compare with the mature Japanese programs.
That may or may not apply to the Daytona, or your friend may not care about ultimate performance. Just a little info.
