PC Map?
Wassup guys...I have a trs yosh slip-on on for about a month now, and I am noticing that I am losing gas mileage. Right now avg about 33. I was wondering if it was do to the fact that I did not remap it. Is it required? Thanx.
the slip-on most likely made you lean out, which would increase gas mileage. But, the better sounding exhaust mostly likely made you a little wrist happy listening to your new exhaust, and because of that your mileage has suffered. My gas mileage went down when i got my PCIII and map, and stayed that way consistantly. My gas mileage also went down when i started wearing ear plugs. This is because the sound dampening made me feel comfortable riding around 3-4k rpms higher than usual.
Yea my mpg was a little worse when I first got it cuz I was a little throttle happy. But these days I have been riding under 8k to properly keep track of my mileage, but it still seems it is low. I remember before the slip-on I was avg about 40mpg...but i did not know remapping it will hurt the mileage...but not remapping it wont hurt the internals right??? thanx again.
i don't think he has a PC3.
to the OP, do you have a powercommander or just your stock ECU?
Typically slip-ons do not require a remap because they don't do much. Your "internals" are fine. The motor will be fine.
I still think your gas mileage is slipping because of sound. Either that or you've started pumping arco gas in to your tank. Or we could chalk it up to "bad gas" as those stories seem to be going around as of late.

I dont have a pc. Just stock ecu. I am thinking about getting one mainly because the throttle response will be smoother. It feels kind of choppy up to about 6-7k rpm, also i am getting a lot of "backfires". Ever since i got my bike I have been putting only Cheveron 91 octane. I am checking the prices and I am deciding whether it will be worth it or not...about $260 w/ shipping.

my dad put twin yosh rs-3s when he had his busa and the throttle got a lil choppy. so we put a pc on it with the map they provided and it ran great.

for the modern SP bikes the fiddling gets harder and harder. even if you own an axione you can not get to factory enhanced maps without a retail service password... buy every code can be broken
personally if your serious about mapping and aftermarket ignitions, dump the piggyback and go completely aftermarket

what about getting the file of a map from another person running the same setup? Is that recommened? I dunno, right now I am thinking if getting the pc is worth it just for a slip-on.
