My 2007 600rr has been an awesome bike thus far... not a single problem. The bike is exactly the same as the 2008 model save for the color schemes. In realiy though, the blue/silver color scheme owns anything in the 2008 lineup, so in my opinion, there was nothing at all wrong with buying the 1st year.

gixxer type mirrors - which everyone does these days
Ducati 1098 type headlights enlarged - except they're totally different since the ducati uses projectors...
gixxer/r6 600's side exhaust - which are just copies of MotoGP technology, which was probably developed by honda in the first place...
copied yamaha for the emblems on the tank - which is actually the original honda wings logo, almost exactly, from hondas bikes in the 60's. which was copied by yamaha, which was also mentioned earlier in this thread...

look a little more like the old 600rrs with a buldge (to me at least). including the under headlight intake 3-4 years before the 1098.

yea it sounds like comparing motorcycles to me. doesnt matter if its street or race, moto gp is what inspires most of what goes into our street legal supersports

Its called trickle down technology. Street bikes are getting technology that is trickled down directly from motogp machines. You said Honda copied the short exhaust, no, they didnt. They just havent used it on a streetbike yet.
The reason I think honda/kawasaki doesnt do that on their 600 cc machines is for the torque/midrange power. For the majority for 4 stroke engines, a longer exhaust pipe will generally net more torque and midrange (which is why they have long underseat exhausts). While a shorter pipe will generally net higher top end power. (ever see an r6 low-midrange dyno?

Actually I haven't. Most of the R6 dyno graphs I have seen convienently ommit that bottom portion, and only display the 10,000 rpm and up range.
Amazaingly the only two 600cc supersports to use an undertail exhaust, are the ones that are praised for their solid low-midrange preformance over the rest of the group.

hey, sorry to inform you, but your '07 6RR isn't the first year for it's setup, the 1kRR always gets the changes first, and then the 6RR follows...For '06, the 1kRR had weird stuff, like an unpainted swing arm, what the hell is with that? haha

And which two are those?
And why does the Daytona with the Arrow low-boy pick up bottom end torque if the undertail is so much better for low end?

generally speaking, with more backpressure the engine needs less rpm's to reach max scavenging efficiency. which means that more backpressure means more power in the low-mid range.
creating bckpressure can be achieved with longer tube length, or more baffling or whatnot.

It went completely over your head. The 1000RR last got updated in '06. They didn't paint the swingarm.
edit: wikipedia agrees with me also... the 1kRR last update was '06, the 600RR didn't get it untill '07. go back to dealing drugs, low life.

Honda CBR1000RROnly two years later, 2006 brought the next evolutionary step in the life of the 1000RR.[3] To that end, the 2006 CBR1000RR offered advancements in every parameter, with more power, better handling and less weight, thanks to the following changes:
New intake and exhaust porting
Higher compression ratio
Revised cam timing
More intake valve lift
Double springs for the intake valves
Higher redline
Larger rear sprocket
New exhaust system
New chassis geometry
Larger 320 mm (12.6 in) front brake discs but thinner at 3.5 mm (0.1 in)
Revised front suspension
Revised rear suspension with new linkage ratios
New lighter swingarm
Revised front fairing design
The 2006 model carried over to the 2007 model year mostly unchanged. The brushed aluminum swingarm was changed to black and the bike is offered in four new color schemes; Black, Red/Black, Satin Silver and Race-Replica Repsol.
